Class Work

Media Project Management

This class brought students together into groups of five to work alongside a community partner. We developed social media strategies, organized and updated their website, taught them about social media tools, and created promotional videos. I was the only member of our group that had worked with a nonprofit before, so it was a very exciting opportunity to be able to learn about how nonprofits like theirs operate.

My job in this group was to put together the videos below. They were used to expose the community that Legacy Fitness has brought to Butler. Our team interviewed several members of Legacy Fitness, parents of the children who attend, and those who attend the special needs classes. With those interviews we created three videos for YouTube (below) and two social media videos.

Advertising Production

This class put students into a group to design a social media strategy for Adobe Express. In this project, we put together a creative brief, print ad, radio ad, social media ads, and, in this case, video ads. My video experience allowed me the opportunity to lead these two assignments as well as the video ad. Our goal for the TV ad was to appeal to Gen Z's fondness for nostalgia. We based our ad on the format of the 1970s-2000s eras of "infomercials". The TikTok video for the social media ads was our take on a popular social media trend at the time of our making it.

Message Preparation

Message Preparation combines storytelling and visual design. We had to choose a campus-related concept for our video. I chose the history and timeline of the dorms on campus. So much has changed around campus over the last hundred years, and I felt that the dorms were the perfect way of telling that story because of how much students interacted with them.
